Project OvervievA comprehensive RA-spec conversion was performed on a Subaru platform, focusing on performance upgrades, restoration, and OEM-quality enhancements. This meticulous build combined JDM precision with European compatibility and included extensive mechanical, electrical, and bodywork tasks.
Key Completed Works Drivetrain & Engine Full timing belt kit replacement (Dayco + OEM tensioners/idlers)
Walbro 255 fuel pump installation + performance test under backpressure
Crankshaft rear seal, oil filter, and Motul Competition 5W40 oil replacement
Custom TIG-welded AC system to fit JDM pump in EU-spec heater box
Gearbox removal and reassembly with new clutch release and flywheel bearings
Suspension & Transmission
Replaced all critical bushings (STI, Lemforder, Febi)
Steering rack rebuilt and modified (shortened) for RA spec
Installed new bearings, tie rods, ball joints, stabilizer links
Rear diff and front crossmember bushings replaced and aligned
Custom brake pipe fabrication and installation (front + rear)
Brakes
Brembo discs and Ferodo Performance pads (front and rear)
Brake fluid flush with Motul RBF660
Hand-fabricated brake pipe brackets on struts
Interior & Electrical
Central locking adapted to RA-spec door locks
Boost gauge + wiring installation
Clock-spring soldering (due to improper sport steering wheel install)
Full heater core replacement and custom routing
Extensive cleaning and wire routing throughout cabin
Bodywork & Protection
Full RA bodykit and conversion parts fitted (from donor vehicle)
Engine bay stripped, degreased, primed (epoxy), painted, and sealed
Fender liners, roof clips, and trim replaced
Engine protection panel (carbon-edged composite) installed
Anti-corrosion treatments (APP cavity wax, zinc primer)
AC & radiator supports reworked, welded, and painted
Special Fabrication
Hand-built fuel tank mounting boxes, custom welds on underbody
Exhaust system modification with fresh seals and bracket repairs
Rebuilt seat assembly from 2 donor units for proper RA seating height
